Preparing Public Comments for ITAR and EAR Rulemaking

The public can influence export control regulations through the rulemaking process. A rarely presented topic, this workshop discusses how the public can respond to rulemaking (such as proposed regulations) with effective public comments that can significantly impact the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The workshop’s presenter, Christopher Stagg, will share industry and government perspectives, as he was deeply involved in responding to public comments at the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. At the end of the workshop, attendees will better understand the rulemaking process and how to approach preparing public comments.
